Sean Green should go

I honestly think that he needs to be the 1st one to go. What a waste of a game tonight... (not that Almonte hadn't already screwed the pooch)

Let's avoid this becoming a vent thread. It won't last very long if it does.

Reminder of the Fan Forum Etiquette:

Following the Brewers means accepting their bad days as well as their good ones. If you want a place to blow off steam by declaring players or team staff worthless when the Brewers play poorly, Brewerfan is not the forum for you. Other sports message boards fill that niche better than Brewerfan does.

This does not mean we allow only praise of the Brewers; but constructive criticism that remains civil and mature contributes more to the overall discussion than saying "TurnbLow SUX!!!11!!" or "I hate this team," or declaring a game "over" in the 3rd inning.

Please refrain from impulsive posts expressing knee-jerk frustration in the form of vents, rants and complaints. If you find that most of your posts take this path, you may want to switch to a forum that's more your style than Brewerfan is.

It's perfectly fine to discuss possible options that might be better fits for the bullpen, but keep the "HE SUCKS" stuff out of it.

The better options are the people on the DL. If I had it my way Green would be DFA'd on Tuesday to make room for Hart. Then we can send out Kintzler when Saito returns, Stetter when Parra returns, Estrada when Greinke returns, and then DFA Almonte when Morgan returns. Then we should be pretty much good to go in the pen. A nice bullpen of...

CL Axford

SU Saito/Loe

MR Hawkins/Mitre

LOGGY/MR Braddock

LR Parra

Roenicke considered sticking with Ax in the 10th, and he should've. Also, apparently Green had been good and kept the ball down in his previous outings. Idk what Roenicke is looking at. I really hope he doesn't think Green is actually good.

Braddock hasn't been bad, and he's a better option to pitch against righties. Stetter is purely a loggy, and can't do much besides getting the occasional out against lefites. Braddock can do that, and give you a full inning or two also if need be.
No one's arguing that Stetter is solely a loogy. But I think you need someone in that role. Ultimately, it depends on what they see Parra's role as. If they see him as the "long guy" then Braddock would have a role. If they plan on using him like their other relievers, then I think he and Braddock become redundant.

McClendon is a better option.

An argument could easily be made that so are DiFelice, Dillard and James. Honestly, I couldn't understand why Green had an inside track on a roster spot starting spring training. His career numbers were below average for a reliever, he was hurt most of 2010, and they had other guys in the system with promise. McClendon was very good in August and September and he was getting work in close games. Of course I don't understand either how Kintzler has passed McClendon either. Sure Kintzler has a power arm, but he's still a work in progress and McClendon's had more success in the majors.

What's funny is that last night Schroeder was no sooner discussing how difficult it was going to be to find room for guys, and Kintzler and Green both surrendered multiple runs. Personally, the decision isn't that tough is it?

I was wondering why he didn't stick with Axford. He had a nice quick inning, and was dead on with his pitches last night. This mentality that a closer can only work one inning is rather dumb.

DiFelice should/will be up within a month.
I doubt it. There's really no place for him once Saito and Parra come back. We'll have a full pen of Ax, Loe, Saito, Hawkins, Mitre, Braddock/Stetter, and Parra.

Once Parra and Saito return, i'd rather have a righthander like Kintzler or McClendon who can pitch a full inning over Stetter who often can't be trusted to face anyone except lefthanded hitters.

Stetter ahead of Braddock? Not sure about that one. Braddock has been bad, and his velocity is down. Not a good combo.

His velocity is down, but saying he's "been bad" is definitely pushing it.
