For those few of you who are curious, chat room access seems to be disrupted. I'm also getting a white screen every other reload of bf.net, so I am guessing it's more of a Yuku-wide problem than just a chat room problem.

And now the Phillies get a hit. I blame Yuku. Shake it off, Narvdog.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Did Uecker just call Gomez, Carlos Lee? The Phillie TV announcers called him Carlos Gonzalez earlier as well. Tough day for saying Carlos Gomez.
That’s because when Carlos

Lee was a Brewer was the last time Ueck was lucid and not senile. In a

couple of years that guy is just gonna be on air talking about anything

and everything but the Brewers. Poor Ueck.

Frustrating 6th for Narveson, but 6 IP 3 ER and a tie game heading into the 7th with Cliff Lee out is nothing to be upset about, especially against the Phillies in this bandbox. Pretty solid start.

Don't know if I agree with Kintzler coming in after just one day off to recover from back-to-back 2 inning outings.

Not quite a defeat pulled from the jaws of victory, but definitely feels like a W that got away.

8th Inning is definitely one to question the manager's decision making:

(a) Not pinch-hitting for Almonte with 2 on and 1 out.

(b) Leaving Kintzler in for another inning instead of bringing in a more-experienced pitcher against the top of the Phillies order.

Can't complain much about taking 2 out of 3 in PHI, while tagging their #1 & #2 starters. But when a sweep was a possibility and an off-day tomorrow, I would've like to see the "all-in" mentality from Roenicke.

That was brutal. It stinks when you can jump out in front of a pitcher like Lee and then give up the lead like that. Lousy thing is I think we actually played a good game.

Narveson looked really good except for the Polanco HR. The gopher ball Polanco hit was a bad pitch but the walk and single before it still looked like Narveson was in control. Kintzler looked really good too except for the complete meat ball to Victorino. He seemed to have hitters guessing at the plate.

I can't wait to have another offensive weapon to plug into the lineup. Hurry back Hart!

I agree that it is good to get out of PHI with 2 of 3 against their strongest pitchers. I disagree on the managment decisions.

Who would you have pinch hit for Almonte? I get the impression that Morgan is not ready to play. That doesn't leave us with many options.

I thought that Kintzler looked excellent in the first inning and didn't see any reason to bring in Loe. (I assume that's who you are referring to with the more-experianced pitcher comment.) Loe is getting used a LOT right now with Saito and Hawkins out. Not need to burn up his arm in April.

Not a bad game. A sweep definitely would've been great, but sometimes the other team just beats you. Trying to look at the positive side, at full strength I think the Brewers win today's game. Although, teams are rarely at 'full strength' so I suppose one could say that about almost any game throughout the season, it makes be feel better to think it anyway.

Kotsay, Kottaras, or Counsell. Probably Kottaras. None are great options, but all are better than Almonte, especially against a RHP.

Tough break for NarvDawg. Impressive we were able to get 3 off of Lee and chase him after six innings.

I had the game on in the background while in the office. Rock mentioned a play a couple of times where Weeks wasn't hustling. It wasn't clear if he meant offensively or defensively. Anyone know what he was talking about?

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people

Well, this was a tough one to swallow. Mostly because we had a 3-0 lead on Cliff Lee. Can't expect Narveson to be perfect though, and he had just one bad inning again. It's really unfortunate that it turned out that way. Looking back, I really don't have a problem with how the bullpen was used. We did make too many mistakes on the bases though in that third inning. That definitely cost us. Also, being forced to have Almonte hit in the 8th really hurt. Under normal circumstances, Morgan would get that bat, and the game might've turned out differently. It's not like Kotsay would've been a great option there either, and he proved that in the 9th. I would've went with Counsell to lead off the 9th personally. I know it was a double switch, but I would've just brought in Counsell then for Betancourt. Overall, a tough loss to swallow, but still happy we took 2 of 3.
