I'm pretty surprised that so many here thought Braun was pulled from the game because he was hurt. There was nothing to indicate that he was hurt and I thought it was pretty obvious that he was pulled to just give him an extra inning of rest/make sure he doesn't get hurt in a 9-0 game.

What would have made you so confident that he was healthy there? Counsell's great reputation in the OF when he was the last healthy non-catcher on the bench? Hindsight = 20/20

Other than the fact that he never comes out of a game and Counsell was playing the outfield for the first time in his looooong career? I think there was good reason to be at least a little bit worried there might be something wrong.

Good stuff Obsessed, couldn't have said it better. I commented on a diff thread that YB haters at least have to be man enough to give him praise when he does something good and not just look to jump all over him when thngs go wrong. It's kind of sick the way some people look to just hate on him so much. I thought he had a good game today and hit the ball hard. He's going to screw up in the field at times and will go on cold streaks but I think he does bring some power to the lineup at times. As for Gomez, I agree that if he's back in the lineup there would be less hate. His defense is outstanding! I just don't know who bats 2nd until Hart comes back.

Because Braun didn't make the last out, McGehee did. So you're replacing an OFer with a career infielder in a DS despite the last out being made by a 3B? And you ask why people wonder?
