I wouldn't mind a rainout either. We used a lot of pitchers in the last two days, with a double header and then extras yesterday. Could use a day off. Plus, I'm not too confident about our offense being able to hit Halladay at this point in the season. But, on the other hand, the road to the World Series would probably go through Philly at some point, so if this team wants to be legit, they got to beat him at some point.

Brewers at Phillies - Weeks 4, Gomez 8, Braun 7, Fielder 3, McGehee 5, Kotsay 9, Betancourt 6, Kottaras 2, Wolf 1

Same crap. Kottaras catching Wolf again, no surprise. Don't really understand going with Betancourt instead of Counsell, since we are facing Halladay. I would've went with Counsell, and hit him 2nd, with Gomez 8th.

Believe it or not, out of our currently available players, Yuni B has about the best numbers vs Halladay. I know, hard to believe

I did a double take myself when I saw that Yuni had the best numbers against Halladay. But, it is what it is. Either way, he's the best pitcher in the major leagues, so any team would be hard pressed to find a lot of guys with good offense against him in their careers.

You see crazy numbers all the time when you look at batter vs. pitcher match ups. It's why managers should know to just ignore them.

At least when the 2002 Brewers rolled out guys like Gomez, Kotsay, Betencourt and kattaras, you knew that the lineup was pretty close to the best it could be. It's so much more frustrating this year when:

A. The glaring issues could be improved upon quite easily.

B. A playoff run is reasonably possible this year.

I find it funny that Wolf hates Lucroy for whatever reason, but he had his only good start of the year while Luc was catching him. This Gomez in the 2 hole is getting sickening. I would almost rather see Gomez lead off and have Rickie in the 2 hole until Hart is back.

Kottaras starting could just as easily be explained by getting more lefties into the lineup and protecting Lucroy from a tough RHP.

The pitching matchup obviously isn't optimal for the Brewers, but it's not like Halladay has never lost before. Who knows, maybe he won't be as sharp after throwing 123 pitches in his CG against the Nats. If the Brewers can chase him after 7, they can maybe steal another one in the late innings. Of course, they'd have to show some plate discipline to get the pitch count up over 12 an inning.
