How was Braun not charged with an error on that throw in the 9th, did they actually think that was a legit double? I would think he will get an error sometime tomorrow. The scorer has 24 hours after the game before it is final.

he definitely should have received an error for allowing the runner to go to second.

That could possibly be one of the worst throws in the history of the game

I thought that a player can take second on a throw to home without an error being scored.

Wow, quite a ride this past 4 hours.

Kinsler looked great, keeping the ball down. Axford looked awful, Braun's throw was one of the stupidest things he's ever done, and Betancourt's error is one of the worst I've seen. That's shortstop 101 right there - get in front of the ball.

Because it wasn't the fact that the throw was bad that allowed the runner to go to second base, it was the fact that the throw was made. While it wasn't a good decision to make the throw in the first place, the decision isn't an error. The scorer likely felt (and I would agree) that, given Braun throws the ball home, the runner makes it to second regardless of the quality of the throw.

Without looking at the box score, I would assume that it was a single with the runner advancing on the throw.

Wowzer. 1 game out of first. Let's get at least one more in Philly.

I'm really hoping for a rainout.

At least you don't have a defeatist attitude or anything...

The team is banged up and we face two of the best pitchers in baseball the next 2 games, a rainout would almost certainly help the team assuming it doesn't mess up the schedule too much of course which it very well might do.

Yeah, I wouldn't cry about missing either of Halladay or Lee right now, especially with most of our bullpen needing some rest, too.
The next two games do have something of a David vs. Goliath vibe. But I know what happens when I assume, so I'm trying not to.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

We're on the road, just came off playing a double header followed by an extra inning game. Our bullpen is overworked, and we're up against 2 of the top pitchers in baseball today and tomorrow. We would really benefit from playing this game at a later date, possibly with a more favorable pitching matchup, rested bullpen, and healthy lineup. So like I said, we could really use a rainout. It has nothing to do with my attitude.
