Phillies handed Axford that inning. Boy oh boy was he overthrowing. I was about to say if it gets to Howard I'd rather see Braddock and his inexplicable drop in velocity than an overthrowing Axford.

last two outs were very lucky...victorino chased a pitch that was very high (and wasn't supposed to be), and Rollins just couldn't get good wood on a really nice fastball to hit.

if only we had an offensive asset leading off in the 10th, i might feel a little bit more confident....

If it's not one thing, it's another. We've had seasons with bad pitching and good offense, and now we finally get some decent starting pitching and the defense is atrocious. And that's putting it kindly.
The offense hasn't been too good this season, either.

Agree that it was frustration from Braun. Trying to do anything to get a win. Still, it's a terrible play and he's got to do better than that.

Yep, it's totally f frustration. I feel for him.

Lately I've been wondering when he'll start demanding a trade.

lol brewers...at least we got it to the tenth. Whos left in the pen?
braddock, stetter, and kintzler i think.

i am NOT looking forward to ESPN cutting to the giants game. I love watching lincecum pitch (and it might save me some pain watching the crew in the 10th)...but I dont get too many chances to see the crew down here.

This is one of the most poorly played games I have ever seen. Our first baseman can't make a good throw to the plate. Our closer can't throw strikes. Nobody can get a big clutch hit. Our infield defense is a joke. Our left-fielder makes a stupid throw that goes to the backstop and allows the winning run to get into scoring position. Betancourt continues to look way off balance in every at-bat.

This is disgusting.

Roenicke must have a serious team meeting after this game regardless of whether they win or lose. This is driving me nuts.

I'm sure somebody already said it, but I thought Derrick Turnbow had returned to the Brewers that inning. Wow, talk about a "guh" appearance. At least he didn't blow it completely (Sunday's Axford Bobblehead Day could be interesting.)

C'mon, Brewers! Let's get something going in the 10th!!!

If this is our "all in" year, we've got to pull the rip cord on the John Axford experiment. The guy had one good year his whole career, he has not earned a very long leash and right now he is abysmal.
Maybe Trevor Hoffman can be brought back as a "consultant" for Axfords head...
