Today has been a clinic on making mistake pitches at the absolute worst time. Braddock badly missed that spot to LaRoche. L-on-L matchups don't matter much when you put a 90 mph fastball there.

I agree with you, why Braun dove, and maybe some one else can explain why---

Bill Schroeder said it was a good decision--here are my thoughts:
1. Play for the win on the road
2. He had absolutely no chance at it---
3. Even if he caught it, there would be one run score on the SF
but
If he played it off the hop
1.only one or two runs would score instead of three.
2.Possibly, bases still juiced for the dp

If I am missing something, please let me know. I cannot figure out why Bill would call it a good play! Thanks

The Brewers are still a more talented team than the Nats at full strength, regardless of what happens in a 3 game series. If the Brewers go out in the next three days, beat Halladay and Lee, and take 2 of 3 from the Phillies it doesn't make them a better team.

Long season, folks. Can't get too worked up over three or four game losing streaks...this is what an 85-win team looks like. At least Joe Blanton is starting opposite Shaun Marcum tomorrow night instead of Roy Halladay.

and that was a really stupid decision for Braun to dive there. He had NO shot to catch that ball

The only outfield defender I've seen in the past 2-3 years that looks to have worse instincts than Ryan is Mike Morse... that dude is terrible.

...

Which is saying something, because Braun flat-out sucks on defense.

Bill Schroeder said it was a good decision

No, he said something about how you can't question Ryan's effort. ... Which was kind of a lame thing to say since his judgment, & not his effort, was what was in question.
