No Plush against a mediocre righty. Kotsay plays again. This lineup would look so much better with Plush in the 2-hole right now.

 

Needless to say, I'm happy to see Counsell get a rare start. I really don't understand why Kotsay seems to have this "veteran grit factor" while Counsell doesn't. Shouldn't Counsell be the ultra-epic-gritty-team player guy?

Is it too early to start a 'Fire Roenicke' thread? Or website?

 

Seriously, this is ridiculous. It's great and all that his players 'like' him, but his decision making in the early going just doesn't make one lick of sense. Does Gomez have something on the guy that we don't know about? At least he's not batting second.

 

Wasn't a fan of this hiring.

 

He's proving to me why I wasn't.

Honestly, why in the hell isn't Morgan playing today? The only explanation that I will accept is that his shoulder is sore from the most recent collision at the plate...

Well, now I can calm down. Seriously, I though Roenicke was off his rocker. Now I am actually happy with him for removing Gomez from the lineup. Sucks that Plush can't play though. It almost seems partially like they wanna avoid problems with him and the Nationals also. This explains why he wasn't in defensively on Friday also.

This makes me sad, because it sounds like Morgan would've started both games if it wasn't for the injury. I really hope Roenicke stops being stupid, and let's Counsell start both ganes. He told him he can. I want Craig in there batting 2nd if Morgan isn't gonna play.

Lots of things making sense or falling into place with Roenicke today. This is why I wasn't so up in arms like some people. Morgan is hurt and can't run well, Counsell is starting over Betancourt, Gomez is in the 8th hole, and we even signed a reserve minor league short stop. All is good.
I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.
