Juan Rivera

Is available and would be a nice bench player. He'd be a nice right-handed stick off the bench and very good insurance for a relapse for Hart.

Plus it'd make Kotsay not a Brewer.

I'd imagine they wouldn't have to give up anything of value for him.

The biggest stumbling block is of course his roughly $5M owed for the rest of this season.

Thoughts?

Spending $5M on him would mean no other positional upgrades or pitching upgrades would be available by trade this season.

Completely not worth it for 40ish more AB's this season (hopefully).

Yeah, I should've made myself more clear. I don't think he's worth $5M either, but if you can get Toronto to eat say $3M and not give up much of a prospect, I think it's worth considering.

A couple of more things enter into my thinking as well:

1. I don't think Hart is going to be healthy all year.

2. I've always liked Rivera as a player.

3. I can not wait until the day Kotsay is gone. I'm getting p!ssed just typing about him.
