Is it wrong that I was going to say that I hope Gomez gets hit by a pitch, so Braun can get an at-bat, but a Gomez at-bat doesn't last long enough to type.

Yes, because one pitch outs keep the pitcher's pitch count low (say that five times fast).

 

That said, I don't mind if someone swings at a first pitch if it's a good one at which to swing. I mean, why let a meaty fastball down the middle go by and put yourself in %%$+@*? I don't remember what kind of pitch Gomez swung at, though.
