I posted this in yesterdays igt but I will post it again because it bears repeating...starting Kotsay over Morgan is absolutely ludicrous

 

 

I have to agree. Morgan is far better defensively, and with the bat he's been swinging, it's foolish to start Kotsay.

McGehee has looked like he's needed a day off lately, but with this lineup I'd be surprised if we see anything productive out of 5-9. Definitely seems like one of those days where Yo might have to drive in a run for himself. At least with Morgan and McGehee on the bench they should have some nice pinch hit options in the late innings?

This is the most puzzling lineup I've seen since the days of Lopes/Royster. Wrong players compounded with the wrong spots in the order.

I was going to say, this reminds me of an early 2000's lineup where we had Jenkins, Sexson, and a bunch of filler players.

D Nelson just mentioned how great the defense is. "Kotsay filling in for Corey Hart has been GREAT, and Bentancourt has made ALL the plays." That is the dumbest comment I have ever heard. That is so far from the truth it is crazy.

 

What the hell does Tony Plush have to do to get the nod in Center Field? At the very least he has to be starting in RF over Kotsay. The team is much better with Plush in the 2 hole.

RRR probably didn't like the idea of having GoGo, Plush and CC all in the same lineup, but Nyjer should have gotten the nod over GoGo if that's the case. Oh well, let's go get em anyway!

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people

This reminds me of those Ned Yost Sunday "give up" lineups that often managed to score 8 runs.
Anytime I would see a Sunday lineup with Graffanino, Rivera, Gross, and Dillon, I knew the fireworks were about to begin.
