It wouldn't be going out on too far of a limb to predict that Narveson has more hits tonight than Kotsay & Nieves combined

The added defense of Nieves gets somewhat negated by having Kotsay on D (I say "somewhat" because obviously C has far more impact on a game defensively than RF)

I'm good with sitting Gomez vs a tough right-hander, that makes sense.

They can't start George every night...it's not an easy decision post-Lucroy returning. Nieves D vs. Kottaras bat. Neither spectacular at either, but each better than the other guy.

Kotsay...uggh. Wouldn't mind seeing some more CC too.

Agreed. Who stays and who goes for back up catcher is going to be a really tough call. I like Kottaras a lot and he usually gives you a nice at bat with a solid approach with pop but his receiving skills are mediocre and his arm is horrible. Nieves can't hit, but I really like the energy he brings behind the dish and he's very solid defensively. Not a call I would want to have to make.

I'm sorry, but Kotsay should not start period during this time that Hart is out. At least Gomez gives you plus defense and a ton of speed should he reach base. RRR is going to be lonely tonight because every time they show a shot of the dugout Kotsay is right in his ear when he's on the bench. Wasn't aware he had replaced Jerry Narron as bench coach

I don't understand the need to put "gritty veterans" in the field. By leaving Kotsay in the dugout all night every night, Roenicke could encompass more young guns in his radius of intangibles.

Maybe I should be happy that I don't have video to watch the games. I'd be even more anti-Kotsay/anti-Betancourt than I am.
