Eric Farris: is there any chance he can play short? -- Latest: Farris to begin playing SS 2x a week

If nothing else it would be nice to know there is a somewhat capable option at SS after Counsell. His offensive numbers don't suggest extreme incompetence, so if he can handle the position I'd expect to see his name on the Brewers' roster in some capacity next season.

Now, can we get Gennett to get a few starts at SS? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Scooter needs to prove that he can play second base first. He is currently below average at second base. Personally I would rather see Vucinich get a few more starts at SS for Brevard.

I was tempted to put that in blue, as I was referring to past discussions of BF.net-ers wanting Farris and Gennett to play some at SS. I have no way to gauge a minor leaguer's defensive capabilities myself, so I'm not necessarily advocating Gennett to SS.

Farris looks to have the range and instincts to play SS (or 3B, for that matter), but just doesn't have the arm to play there everyday IMO.

I also watched both games and competely agree with Toby. The main reason being his sidearm throwing motion that Toby pointed out on twitter and in the other thread. A course it has only been two games so maybe Farris will eventually adjust and change that motion.
