2011-04-08 Cubs (Zambrano) at Brewers (Wolf); [Brewers lose, 7-4]

So Weeks accounted for one bad play; Wolf still gave up two homers and 4 hits. The guy has been pathetic since the very start of spring training
You have to love how Wolf has given up 2 HR's, but only 1 ER. If that doesn't tell you all you need to know about the silliness involved in "earned runs", I don't know what will.

still very frustrated from the top half of this inning....but it's really nice to see the bottom of the order find a way to produce some runs. Not something i'm counting on happening too often....but it's definitely nice.

What happened to zambrano? He used to throw 95 with a lot of movement. Tonight he's barely touching 90 with little movement

His velocity picks up as it heats up but he has never thrown 95 on a regular basis. He has always lived in the 92-93 range just with a lot of movement.

 

As for Wolf, he did more or less what we paid him for overall last year and it is 2 games into this season. Seems a bit premature to compare him to Suppan, his deal was also a lot more reasonable than Suppan's was.
