Brewers announce prices for concession items

I am surprised most people still buy concessions other than beer and ice cream. They let you bring in practically everything else. They even let you bring in soft sided coolers.

I blame Wang.

Logan, I agree. Occasionally I'll get the cactus league nachos or a brat, but for the most part we eat in the parking lot and bring in our own snacks. Not too many professional sports teams let you both tailgate and bring in your own food and beverages.

The Brewers have the most generous carry-in policy in all of professional sports as far as I know. No one makes you pay for anything inside Miller Park. I laugh at all the people complaining about the prices! I goto 25 plus games a year and rarely buy any food or drink inside. I eat and drink in the parking lot and brink in sunflower seeds and something to drink into the game. Some people just like to complain!

Yeah, ain't that the truth. I always get a chuckle how every off-season you get the people who claim, "I've been a season ticket holder for 20 years, and I've finally had enough!" Yeah, I'm real sure that .25 increase in the price of beer finally pushed you over the edge from being a die hard, buddy.

It's definitely nice to be able to bring stuff in but sometimes it's also nice to be able to eat "baseball food" while actually watching the game. I would say stuff like burgers, brats, hot dogs, nachos, etc. I don't think you can bring this type of stuff in and if you could, it probably wouldn't be as good since it wouldn't be fresh off the grill. For me, eating a sub while watching a game just doesn't cut it.

I understand the need to increase prices a bit but I think they should do a few more promotions throughout the year, more than just dollar hot dogs. Maybe $3 brats or burgers or $2 nachos or something like that. Or perhaps a team-based promotion where if the Brewers win a certain number of home games in a row or a player does a certain feat, then there will be some kind of special for the next home game or homestand. I just think that would be a way to not only sell more items but also sell more tickets (although that doesn't seem like much of a problem so far).

I can barely make to the games on time as it is when leaving work and driving from Madison to Milwaukee so I almost always eat at the ball park. There's no time for tailgating and I really don't think the prices for the hot dogs and brats are all that bad. I'd rather eat a ball park dog or two than bring in a footlong Subway sandwich. I think the only food I've ever brought in was peanuts.

Re Dollar Dogs: I'm a vegetarian, but friends have told me that the dogs/buns on dollar dog day are different and lesser quality than the regular price dogs. Any truth to that?

You can bring that stuff in and I disagree that it would be worse. I think a brat off the grill tastes way better than anything served at Miller Park even if it isn't fresh off the grill. I am pretty sure they don't grill their food. I throw a few dogs on the grill every time I grill because they taste so good a few days later for a smack.

From my experience, yes, the dollar dogs are inferior. However, they still only cost a buck. I'm pretty sure there is still a section that sells dollar dogs every game but few people want to waste 2 innings walking to a special section to get an inferior product for a cheaper price.
