Reds Rotation

My roommate had mono a couple years ago, and he could barely sit through a class. I;m surprised that Arroyo can pitch with it. It usually just causes terrible weakness and fever. Basically knocks you out for awhile, where all you can do is rest. He's lucky he didn't get it bad I guess.

Having "mono" means that you tested positive for the virus and have some symptoms. As with many medical conditions, the severity of those symptoms runs quite a spectrum; in the case of mono it can cause nothing at all to being wiped out for weeks on end and having an engorged spleen. Most adults who weren't germophobes and had a social life as a youth have been exposed to the virus (Epstein-Barr virus) at some point but many never even knew it because they lacked symptoms or just attributed it to feeling "run down" for awhile and forgot about it. Basically, no two cases are alike.

Ok? I was just sharing a story, I know this already.
