Best Music of the first half of 2007

I mentioned that Mark Olson album in the Recent Purchases thread last night. That's a solid album.

 

I like Elvis Perkins, but I honestly didn't listen to it enough to put it on my list. There's some very good songs on it, for me it's a really good album to listen to in the winter.

 

I don't know much about the National

 

What I know is that I cannot stop listening to them.

They perform "Lucky You" which is a rarity (and one of their best songs).

From what I heard at Summerfest, Reel Big Fish's "Monkeys For Nothin' and the Chimps For Free" should be pretty good. Anberlin's "Cities" was pretty good as well, even though it was just like "Never Take Friendship Personal".
