2011-03-01 Brewers (Greinke) at White Sox (Buehrle); [Brewers win, 3-1]

Mass Haas
I know our shiny new SS has two hits today, but I believe they were both on first pitches. This makes me think all the talk about him being more patient this year is probably bunk. I'd almost rather have him strike out while going deep in the count since its only ST. I guess we'll see how things progress.

He had a walk yesterday. He needs to have the right approach every time, which in general means that if the first pitch is something he can drive, go for it. If not, wait to see if he gets one. Also do you know they were first pitch hits from listening, or are you going by gameday which is not all that accurate in spring games?

Good to see DiFelice back on the mound.

Man, I forgot all about DiFelice. Is he in the plans for a spot in the bullpen or does he have minor league options?

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people

He's not on the 40-man, so the Brewers can stash him in nashville to begin the season if need be -- wonderful depth.

I was listening. I'm not 100% sure they were first pitches either and I completely agree that if you get a pitch to hit first pitch, see what you can do with it. I was just hoping to see/hear him take a few pitches.
