Mike Jones Retires

Mike gave it a good run. I always enjoyed following his name in boxscores, in prospect handbooks, and finally in internet articles about his perseverance. I hope that once his son is old enough for school, Mike will give the Brewers a call about a position. I could see him either opening up as a pitching coach (since he always had a good feel for pitching) or even as a rehab coach--someone who helps push guys through their rehab.

I always rooted very hard for Mike, he was one of my boys. Best of luck to him in his future endeavors.

It's sad when things turn out like this. I probably saw 90% of all his box scores.

Mike...you gave it your all and we thank you for the service. I can't imagine how hard it is to get to the spot where your retire in the minors after being a first round pick. No doubt you gave it all you had. I wish you the best of luck in the future.

So I guess Haudricourt was right....even if he was kind of a jag about it.
