Top 5 shameless shows guys watch...

jaybird2001wi

Some shows that I'm ashamed to like include:

Family Guy

American Dad

Prince of Tennis

Teen Titans

Robin Hood (the new one on the BBC)

Doctor Who (the modern ones, I've not seen the old ones)

These are shows that I know to be lame or corny, yet I still enjoy them.

As for Felicity, I like that too, but I'm not ashamed of that fact. I started watching it with the 2nd episode back in the day (98 maybe) when my dad turned me onto it (he never watched it though). He had read an article in the Times about how one of the staff writers got fired for pretending she was 19 when she was really 30. I even convinced some friends to watch it. My wife and I also have the DVDs of it.

I guess I did watch the Days of Our Lives premiere episode when it was rerun on the show's 40th anniversary. Can't say I benefited from it, but it was kind of interesting to see how soaps were done way back when.

I'd shamelessly watch Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman if they started rerunning it again. Highlights include:

  • The Fernwood Flasher
  • The guy who drowned in Mary's chicken soup
  • An aluminum Christmas tree impalement (Martin Mull)
  • A bathtub electrocution (a TV fell in, killing the son of Dabney Coleman's character; Dabney then went on a crusade about the evils of television)
  • A reproductive organ transplant from a dog
  • A parody of star Louise Lasser's real-life arrest
  • A mass murder of a neighborhood family, including the family's goats and chickens; everyone was appalled that someone would kill those goats and chickens
  • Important issues surrounding the waxy yellow buildup on Mary's kitchen floor
  • Lots of product placement for Schlitz beer
  • Author Gore Vidal (as himself) playing a potential love interest for Mary
  • Mary's nationally televised nervous breakdown on the David Susskind show

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

I watch reruns of Saved By The Bell every morning on TBS. Sometimes they show The College Years episodes. That's as bad as it gets for me. I usually change the channel to Mike and Mike in the Morning if I hear somebody coming into the living room.

At my work, a group home, they have cable TV and one time I got lambasted by my boss for watching Full House when nothing else was on and it wasn't busy at all at work. He said to me, "Number one reason you don't have a girlfriend, you WATCH FULL HOUSE!"

Yeah, that's another show I love. Right after I got DVR, I was checking out the channel guide and I noticed that TBS happened to be right at the beginning of the first season of SBTB. So I recorded the whole run plus the Miss Bliss episodes & the College Years.
