Twins shopping Francisco Liriano?

I don't know if the Brewers have the prospects, but that would be sick if the Brewers traded for him.

Per the article, Liriano wants to discuss a 3year/$39MM deal...

Does this affect a future Marcum deal since we compared Liriano to Marcum going into the arbitration hearing? Yikes! I don't know if we can afford Marcum @ $13MM per. Brings up an interesting question for me; if I could only pick one option, would I rather have

#1 Weeks and Marcum extended
or
#2 Greinke extended

I would also love to Liriano on the Crew but I don't know. We already traded our top prospect for a pitcher 1 year removed from surgery, why make it two? Just seems risky, especially for just one year.

The Brewers need to devote their pitching resources into extensions for Greinke and Marcum. The aren't going to be able to afford another $13 million arm, even if they deal Wolf a year before his contract expires. They should look to continue to fill the 4 and 5 spots around the big 3 internally, only dipping in for veterans on very short term deals as needed.

Well, what Liriano is asking for is ridiculous. He's going to make $4.3M this year and assuming he has a great year he could get $10M next year. So, essentially he wants $25M in that third year. Not gonna happen!
