Lasik in the Madison Area

Has anyone gotten Lasik in the Madison Area? Who did you go to, and how was your experience? Would you do it again? Thinking of getting it next year, and want to see what people's experience was with it. Thanks in advance

I got mine done at Anderson and Shapiro on the east side almost 4 years ago and love it. My experience with them was great. I had mine done at 8 in the morning on the first Thursday of March Madness... and I was mad because I thought I wouldn't be able to watch any of the games that day. Well, I was home by 9:30, and after a short 45 minute nap I could lay on the couch and see the tv clear as day. You're required to go in the next day for a follow up exam and I had 20/15 eye sight. I would definitely recommend them.

My wife and I both had it done at Hale Vision Center, with Dr. Hale, on the west side of Brookfield. We have both had stellar results. They do the only lasik procedure that is accepted for military personnel and astronauts. I highly recommend him.

I had mine done 11 years ago by Lou Probst.

At the time, 11 years ago, he worked for Laser Eyer Center in Madison. He also worked out of Chicago and Ontario Canada at the time. I was willing to go anywhere in the continental US, and this was my #1 choice.

 

The only caveat that I didn't look into was for people that sit behind a desk staring at a computer all day. I don't know if there are any side effects for that.

 

After surgery you eye sight will be better some days and worse the next. It takes about 6 months for them to be fully healed and stable.

 

You must get a regular eye exam with your optometrist ever year to keep the "warranty". Since my first yearly checkup my eye sight has not changed at all.

Thanks guys, I really want to do it, just got to see if the financials work out. I was looking at Dr. Probst, and the people at Anderson Shapiro, makes me feel a bit better about it.
