The last WEC event (12/16/10), Milwaukee's own Anthony Pettis fights for the Lightweight belt

Dnye23

The World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) is converting into the UFC at the beginning of next year. That also means that the UFC will have bantamweights and featherweights. The last event for the WEC is Thursday, December 16th 2010 LIVE on VERSUS. The main fight on this card is Milwaukee's own Anthony Pettis vs. Lightweight Champion Ben Henderson. Winner will retire the WEC championship and will face Frankie Edgar (if he's still champion at the time) for the undisputed UFC lightweight championship.

the first 3 fights were pretty average, but that Pettis fight was the best fight I have seen this year. That move was sick and Duke Roufus got alot of love for teaching that move to showtime. I will definitely be getting the UFC pay per view that he is headlining again against Maynard or Edgar.

That flying roundhouse off the fence was SICK! I agree Patrick, that is the best fight I've seen this year. Started out slow with both guys feeling out their gameplan, great back and forth action through the whole thing. Henderson might have won the decision ifn't it wasn't for those last couple minutes in the 5th. Congrats to Pettis for retiring the WEC lightweight belt. I expect it to be displayed at Duke Roufus Academy here in Milwaukee forever. I cannot wait to see his UFC title fight against Edgar or Maynard.
