Brian Shouse retires

And That

Recommended Posts

Good LOOGY, but I'd say my lasting memory of Shouse is Yost having him walk Howard to face Burrell.

Hard to forget the moment that got Yost fired. I swear if Antanasio was in Philly for that double header Yost wouldn't have gotten to game 2.

Well, you know that wasn't on Shouse's head.
Of course it's not, but I'll always remember it was Shouse. I think that's what's known as collateral damage.

I'll always remember the game Yost had Shouse walk a guy in St Louis (Last Saturday of '06). And Coco Cordero proceeded to blow his 2nd save as a Brewer (I'd seen the first one at Wrigley the previous Wednesday, I believe). Giving poor Shouse the loss.

Should also note that this is the end of Enrique Cruz's baseball legacy. I think. Ah, 2003.
The just-turned 29-year-old hit .381 in 252 AB's with Edmonton (of all places) in independent baseball last year and is still a member of their roster, with his option being renewed for 2011. So you never know...
