jhart05,

What is the injury situation with the Panthers going into this game? I thought that I read that several Panther players are nursing injuries going into this game (I think it was Hill, Williams, and Allen but I'm not sure). Are these guys going to be OK?

Hill, Williams, and Ryan Allen will be on the floor. They all practiced this week. No way would Hill miss the biggest game (so far) of his college career.

Everyone is banged up this time of year, just have to suck it up and play.

Watched the replay of the UW-UM game last night, and I didn't think the Badgers necessarily played poorly. Their shots just weren't falling well. They had a lot of good looks that were in-&-out, or otherwise just barely missed. Pretty ironic, then, that a shot way off target wound up with enough luck to fall at the buzzer.

Butch banked in a 3 with a couple ticks on the clock once too. Gasser rushed it to make sure he got it off in time, but all that matters is it went through the hoop. Tough break for Michigan, it was such a bad shot, it was able to bank back in.
I think he rushed it so that it wouldn't get blocked - he still had plenty of time. Had he waited and set himself up for a good shot, Stu Douglass has got a good chance to fly in and block it.

Screw Michigan, by the way. I don't feel sorry at all for beating them in the most painful way possible and basically destroying their tourney chances. See you in the NIT.

The call was terrible, really too bad Gus Johnson wasn't announcing. I agree that he seemed to definitely be cheering for Michigan. Played poorly, shot poorly on the road again but got a lucky W. We'll take it but that's going to need to improve in a few weeks. You can't score 50 points, shoot only 35%, allow the opponents to shoot over 50% and expect to win in March. Hopefully they can take some Kohl Center magic on the road with them.

Marquette with a huge win over Connecticut tonight on the road. Looked bad for awhile, but they pulled it out and are off the bubble (for now at least).

And I didn't see it, but Milwaukee won in Cleveland State, 87-83. Win in Youngstown State now (in dead last) and they have a share of the title at worst. That's pretty cool.

Not sure how the seeding would go as it could be a four way tie, but being the #1 in the Horizon tournament is a huge deal. Anyone know how that would shake out?

Great win for Marquette. They are in as long as they dont go something like 1-3 with their last 3 than the Big East tourney

We need to win on Saturday at Youngtown State and the Horizon League Tournament is once again in that great old building The Mecca. (It will always be The Mecca to me.) The site of the only Milwaukee basketball championship.

I know we have a lot of fair weather fans who only come out when we win. That's cool, we'll take all the fans we can get. Jump back on board for the ride. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Heck of a game between Milwaukee and Youngstown State. 25+ ties and lead changes. Milwaukee missed a go ahead FT with 15 seconds left, then YSU missed two point blank shots, including one that I still can't believe didn't go in at the buzzer.

Milwaukee took control in OT though and wound up prevailing!! Second game in a row they missed some FT's down the stretch but hung on for a 7 point win and the Horizon League regular season title. Pretty cool. Puts them as the #1 seed in the conference tournament, which they will now host and get a bye into the semi-finals!!

Little bit closer than I would have liked, but, a win is a win, and I'll take it.

The path to the NCAA Tournament runs thru the Mecca once again!!!

Hope to see you all down there Saturday night.

First game will be at 5pm, which will be Butler. Our game will be right after that.

If you can't make it down there, the game will be on ESPNU.

Go Panthers!!!

MI State got blown out at home by 20 against Purdue, and they are a tourney team according to ESPN & CBS. Do they deserve to get into the dance, or are they getting in based on name alone?

just a bit off the beaten path, but my alma mater, Luther College, won the IIAC tournament last night to give them their first DIII NCAA Tournament bid since 1983-84.

I spend five years of my life working as student manager and working my way up to student assistant coach for that team. I never thought I'd see the day that they got enough quality players to make it to the Little Big Dance.

Really weak bubble this year. Three extra spots, not many good mid-majors, and some of the power conferences are down as well (SEC, PAC10, ACC). That said I cant see MSU being a tourney team. I have seen them get blown out like 3 times in conference play. They are in because people are putting stock in how many quality losses they have. SOS should only matter if you beat the good teams.
