Yes I remember that shot clearly. Now that you mention it, it probably was not the Capitol, nor any other building in Madison. At least not one that I have seen. At the time, I was thinking, "Hmm, that is a strange view of the Capitol, where is that perspective coming from?"

TLB, run your DVR and take a photo of the TV. I didn't see the telecast because I was at the game, but I'll give it a try if I can see the shot.

Another crowd observation from WI/IU: there were a bunch of IU fans about two rows ahead of us. We share "red sweater crowd" seats with a retired prof, and in 12 years of sitting there we've never had visiting fans in our section. It made me wonder if attendance is waning even outside the student sections.

Didn't save the game. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Just re-wound during the live broadcast. Crap!

Just hope someone else like obsessed can chime in. And it was definitely not the Capitol.

I would have jeered Brett Valentyn extra (which is easy to do from the sofa) had he missed both 10th-assist attempts from Gasser, thinly disguised as three-point attempts.

That whole game smacked of "let's get this done and on to football."

Very impressive game for the Badgers. Northwestern's zone has given them fits before and the Badgers just shredded them. Gasser, Taylor, Keaton, Leuer, and Bruiser all came up big. The Badgers need to avoid a slip up at a tougher than expected Penn State team and they will be sitting pretty going into final stretch.

At Penn St

Purdue

MSU

at Iowa

Ohio State

at Purdue

Penn State

at Mich

Northwestern

at Indiana

at Ohio State

Tough home games down the stretch but road games at Penn State, Iowa, and Indiana are must wins.

What are the odds that Brett would be on the team if his dad was not Bo Ryan's agent?

The thread in which we try to predict whether Josh Gasser will get his first triple double before or after his junior season

I expected him to do it...just didn't expect it to happen as a Freshman.

First triple double ever at Wisconsin! First triple double by a big ten freshman since assists were recorded as stats. Impressive feat

Did anyone else notice the exterior shot ESPN came back to from commercial around the 8:00 mark in the second half? It was right before Jordan Taylor went to the line for a 1-1 (in which iirc he converted both throws). Anyway, the pbp announcer said something generic like, 'It's cold outside here in Madison, but...' and the exterior shot was of a domed building, but very clearly NOT the Capitol. So my question is twofold -- 1) Did ESPN show stock footage from the wrong city? (I find this unlikely), and 2) If not, what building was this?

I hope someone remembers what I'm talking about. I re-ran that little segment several times on the DVR & couldn't for the life of me figure out what building it was.

It wasn't the old observatory was it?

I'm 99% certain the building in question was significantly bigger than that, and it was near a relatively busy stoplight intersection. Just from my own memory of the UW campus, & now checking some maps, it wasn't Washburn Observatory.

TLB said previously that he didn't save the broadcast. Overture Center makes a lot of sense, though.

Interesting, the detour this hoops thread has taken. I tell you, this academic year has been all about football.

I thought about the Overture Center, and it wasn't that. I really, really wish I hadn't deleted that game off the DVR now. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

It's been a while since I lived in Madison, but I lived in the downtown & campus area for several years. I really couldn't recognize the building for the life of me. Thanks to everyone for putting heads together on this. Unless someone has the game saved on DVR I just really don't think my question will be answered.

I didn't think of it until today at work... and ESPN there is

disabled... so I checked ESPN3 tonight and they still had the replay

up...

Here's the building!

Obviously not the Wisconsin State Capitol, and also obviously not in Madison. Some ESPN intern needs to be fired! Still trying to figure out where it is though...

This was like some inverse version of "Google Can't Save You #XXX".

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people

I was just checking on the Badgers' recruiting, when I stumbled upon these gems:

Badgers just don't have anyone that can break down a defense and get to the rim besides Taylor. Maybe Wilson but he doesn't even see the floor most of the time. Bo just didn't recruit enough athleticism to round out the team for this year. If they had one decent slasher-Alando-Tucker-but-not-even-needing-to-be-as-good-as-Tucker-was type player they'd be a pretty good team with a chance to make a run in the tournament.

It's a shame Bruesewitz continues to get the minutes he does, Offensively he seems to have no idea what his purpose on the floor is, but with this marking the 4th season in a row that Jarmusz has failed to step up.... he's been the same as always: Doesn't

turn the ball over, doesn't get beat on the defensive end, but doesn't

really do anything above average. What Bo wouldn't give for a decent small forward... or 3rd guard.

I think they can still make a run in the tournament, it will depend on Gasser stepping up and hitting his 3's.
