Johnny Damon, Part Deux

Blame these edits on my wife, the French "expert" in the household, for telling me the wrong spelling. I had "Johnny Damon, Part God" up at first.

If he could have made it as an everyday CF'er he'd be a pretty valuable commodity. As it is, he's a solid player with good on base skills, not quite the power you'd like from a corner outfielder. Anyone remember why he missed the last half of the season?

I always liked him too. Looks like the Royals get decent back of rotation guy in Mazarro, and somebody who's still way down in the minors at 22.

David DeJesus will have surgery to repair a torn tendon in his right thumb and the Kansas City Royals outfielder will miss at least 10 weeks.

DeJesus sprained his right thumb crashing into the fence in center

field Thursday night in Yankee Stadium, a play that resulted in an

inside-the-park homer for Derek Jeter.

The Royals initially called the injury a sprain Friday when he was

placed on the disabled list. But DeJesus saw a specialist in Cleveland

and it was determined he would have surgery Monday.
