Building a website

twobrewers

I am on the Board of Directors for a Christian basketball league for high school students.

We have been wanting (for years) to build a website. Back in college, probably about 8 years ago, I built a website using Microsoft Publisher and put it onto Geocities. (Remember them?)

Anyways, as you can imagine, the task to build a website has been assigned to me. I looked into Intuit Website Builder, but in order to have a personalized URL and a half-way reasonable amount of data on the website it is at least $20 a month. (I can have 5 pages with no URL for $5 a month)

Anyone have any other ideas before I end up paying $20 bucks a month for this project?

$20 sounds rather expensive for a simple web hosting.

That is very expensive, especially since I am guessing you don't have a lot of space or bandwidth needs. I am sure someone here can recommend more places, but just as an example, GoDaddy lets you sign up for an economy plan for $4/month: http://www.godaddy.com/Ho...ting.aspx?isc=hos3go106b

I would also strongly recommend using Joomla or Wordpress if you want a profesional looking site without a lot of work or knowledge in CSS/HTML.
