any pictures yet? Please post some for those of us in the desert that wish for some snow.
It's raining in Madison at the moment, so nothing photo worthy from me so far.

OWBC, you sound pretty confident that there won't be another round of bad weather in ten days.

Also, casey, given the winds expected Sunday, I hope you have a backup plan in case you have to stay in Milwaukee.

The backup plan would be to reschedule an early Monday morning appointment for Tuesday. The hassle with that isn't so much on my end. It's the fact that Monday through Friday businesses are hard to contact on the weekend and calling on Monday morning doesn't give much notice.

It's sounding very likely that I'll need to delay driving until Monday, though.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Quoth the DOT:[/url][/b]
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation along with the State Patrol is advising motorists not to travel on any Wisconsin highway now through Sunday, unless absolutely necessary. The National Weather Service has issued Winter Storm and Blizzard Warnings in most counties around the state until Sunday morning. Heavy snow combined with high winds and dangerous wind chills, has led to white-out conditions in many areas, limiting visibility for motorists. This storm will continue to move through the state, with areas in the south and east expected to be impacted throughout the night and day on Sunday.

This is from the snow we got (Fox Cities) on Thursday, pitchleague. This new storm hasn't hit us just yet, but will be in full force before too long if I had to guess.

I'm sure these will look pretty paltry in a few hours. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Snapped a few more, pitchleague, but the storm doesn't seem like it's at full strength yet.

The flash makes it look so magical... trust me, it's not. More like a sandstorm, but with snow.

A lot of what looks like bigger accumulation is just drifting. Not sure how much I'd guesstimate has actually accumulated here yet... hard to say since the wind is blowing so much.

I'll take more pics tonight & maybe get a better idea of how much has actually fallen later.

That dry slot is farther north than expected. Totals are definitely going to be on the lower end of the forecast.
That would be fine. Once it's zero or whatever, our low-priority residential intersection might then have slightly less deep frozen ruts.

Also, pitchleague, here you go, from about ten minutes ago:

There's a moderate coating of snow on all the tree and shrub branches, which at least contributes to a holiday feeling.

So far in Madison it's not the volume of snow that's concerning, but the extent to which it's being blown around. After several hours of rain this afternoon, I kind of hate to think of the layer of ice that is probably forming at the base of every surface.

For what it's worth, Peavey, the channel 27 weekend weather guy said there was more coming after this dry slot. He still stuck to his 8-12" prediction for the general area, but I wouldn't bet against OWBC, of course.

Less than an inch of heavy, wet snow but the biggest snowflakes I've ever seen. Had to walk to the street light to get decent pictures because all I have is my crappy cell phone camera.

Here in Germantown, still rain. No snow at all. Very weird.
I'm in Menomonee Falls. Didn't start snowing until almost 11:30 PM, but now it's coming down. Let's see what the morning brings....

I swear it looks like we only have a couple of inches. Crazy, I thought we would have 5-10 by this morning.
