Southern Wisconsin is blessed. Emil's pizza is now available at Woodman's.

They are from Watertown. They used to only sell to bars in the Watertown area. Now, every single bar in Janesville carries Emil's Pizza. I actually have people call the bar for take out. No kidding!!

Nothing flashy. Just great pizza. Thin crust or Top Heavy. Both are great.

Another one I'll add...

One of my friends when I was younger has parents who own a bar. We used to eat, like, three Luigi's pizzas a day. We'd just ride our bike to the bar and hit the freezer. We'd spend all day and night eating them, drinking a cube of Mountain Dew, and playing the Griffey baseball game for SNES.

Glory days.

I personally enjoy Jack's, although it is tough to find them 4 for $10 anymore...more like 3 for $9.

I had a Jack's pizza a few weeks ago,man it was horrible IMO,cardboard with tomato sauce, cheese, and some tiny sausage pellets. After a few pieces i threw out the rest and got full on garlic bread.

I understand if someone is low on cash buying those, but for me,saving a dollar or two isn't worth eating a pizza that tastes like it was 3 dollars.I watch for when Home Run pizzas are on sale from 7 dollars to 5ish and i buy three or so.Then i have top notch tasting frozen pizza on hand for whenever i want one and it's not overly expensive.Great crust, lots of cheese, and big hunks of real italian sausage, not micro sized pellets of bland sausage

I tried one of these recently. Good pizza and I really liked how they used whole green pepper slices.

I have to backtrack a bit on my previous comment about Emil's and the whole green pepper slices. That was Dino's out of Racine, not Emil's. Easy to confuse as they're both "bar pizzas".

Nowdays I just eat whatever the wife picks up but back in the day I always enjoyed a Village Pub pizzas, out of Winneconne. I think they were less than 2 bucks apiece at Pick N Save. And Joe's Fox Hut in Fond du Lac were pretty good too. And thanks for the Emil's reminder. I'll be in Watertown tomorrow and I think I'll pick up a few.

  • 2 weeks later...

I don't know how I missed this thread. Growing up, I loved Tradewinds pizza. It was paper thin and delicious. The sausage and mushroom was the best. They were like $2.00 apiece.

My favorite used to be Jack's Canadian Bacon. The crust was great and the canadian bacon was awesome.

However, I have found the most delicious pizza ever. California Pizza Kitchen's BBQ Chicken Pizza. I kick myself for not going to CPK and getting a fresh one when I was out in L.A. for work. (Isn't there a CPK in the Milwaukee area now?)

The CPK frozen pizzas are around $5 apiece if you go to Sam's Club. I can't really describe the BBQ Chicken other than perfect.
