Oops. Vote in the "lost private messages" [removed dead link] topic at Support. I'll changed "mentioned in Issues" to point to the topic in Issues.

 

Thanks to those who've voted so far. While it looks as if you need to have a post at Support for your vote to display in the voters' list, your vote definitely counts toward the total. Currently, this topic has the second most votes in the forum.

Since I'm one of the people who lost private messages, I'll let you know how this turns out.

 

In a few days, I'll post something about the wonky reply numbers, landing on the wrong pages in topics, etc., and ask once again for your votes. That's the number one complaint among our membership.

Exactly. That's part of the bug I was describing.

 

Another lesser known aspect of the bug is that very occasionally, when you link directly to a post, the link won't link. I don't recall offhand where it ends up going instead of where it should. That's only happened to me once or twice, and I don't recall anyone reporting that it's happened here.

I'm displeased that the topic for which we've voted has now been hidden. I sure hope that doesn't mean that Yuku has decided not to address the issue--after KickApps' chief technology officer said it would be addressed. I've sent an inquiry via PM.

I received a PM saying that messages can be restored upon individual request. I don't know why that wasn't announced publicly, though. There are a lot of people who'd be interested in knowing that.
