My all-time favorite photo of Dave Bush: taken by me from section 213 as he threw the first pitch of NLDS game 3 in 2008 - one of the happiest days of my sports fan life.

R.A. Dickey has a bit of a serial-killer look in this photo. Here's hoping he doesn't knuckle the Brewers to death.

I can't stay to wait for game 2 lineups, so please do add them once they're known (if anyone else is watching).

Go Brewers? Try for a split?

Edit: I'll get these lineups posted, dad gum it.

Weeks 2B

Gomez CF

Braun LF

Well, now we can root for a Brewers sweep. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

The game notes pdf on brewers.com says that the Brewers are 1-2-0 all-time (swept one, been swept twice) in double headers against the Mets, so a split would be a first.

Actually, I'd been thinking of a series split, but now they can theoretically set their series sights higher.

I was just at Wisconsin volleyball at the Field House. The opponent was Illinois and they brought a ton of fans. Is it a rule that if you favor a team from the state of Illinois that you have to travel to contests in the state of Wisconsin and be obnoxious? Man.

The happiest day in my life as it was my wedding day. May only be surpassed by the birth of my twins in Feb. or March http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

It was indeed a busy day and somehow we managed to make it to Game 4 the next day which if I recall was a noon start and we live 2 hours away down in Chicagoland. Not sure how that happened but my lovely wife was a great sport.

I still remember the look she gave me when I told her the tickets we had were for Sunday vs. Thursday. I had managed to win the lottery for (home) games 1 or 2 and not seeing the word 'home' assumed this was for the Wednesday or Thursday game (I guess thinking it was still 2-3 instead of 2-2-1). So since we were taking off Thursday anyway we could do any wedding prep before after so why not go to the game.

We had tickets to the last 2 games of the regular season and were enjoying the playoff celebration when CC was asked 'will we see you in Philly' and I think it took me about 2 minutes to process what that meant and another 5 or 10 to get the courage to tell my wife we held tickets to a game the day after our wedding. If looks could kill, I wouldn't be here to tell this story. So all week we debate what to do and after going down 2-0 almost wished they would be swept on Saturday to make it a moot point. And some of my relatives from Wisconsin were ready and willing to take the tickets if needed.

Except at some point at the reception (game 3 is on the TV in the bar area) I realize there is no way I'm going to miss game 4. And you can see me checking the TV during our first dance on our wedding video. I hope we make it back to the playoffs but not knowing what the future holds, I think being at game 4 is definately a lifetime memory.

So yep, here we are 2 years later getting ready to head to St. Louis for a 3 day weekend and take in a game at Busch Stadium. My wife's idea since we've been to a new park together each of the first 5 years we've been together but none so far in 2010. Gotta keep the streak alive. And next year it will be 4 of us going to a new park http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif The twins even have Brewer onesies already. We can shoot for 2.25 since they are due 3.16 but likely to be early since twins do that. We're just hoping its after Valentine's Day.
