Last home game of the year is always a sad day.

Marlins' broadcast just showed Fielder in the dugout smiling and doing a pseudo-batting stance. I know it's good for the future of the Brewers, but it's going to be sad to see him go.

They also offered up several suggestions for fixing the shadows problem that have been mentioned on this board, including curtains and window tinting.

Days like today are how you start to get recognized as a classy organization that treats its players well. I thought Macha did an excellent job of giving just about everyone who may not be back next year recognition, whether it was starting Counsell, pulling Prince for a pinch runner, or pitching Hoffman in the 9th. Hell's Bells for Trevor's appearance was also a nice touch.

It's been a very frustrating year, especially for the home fans that saw the team only go 40-41, but doing things like that go a long way in making everyone feel good heading into the offseason. Kudos to the organization, the fans, and the players.

Considering that the last home game of the year always makes me sad, I had a wonderful time today. I got to see most if not all of the ballpark employees - from the guy who takes our parking pass in the Giants/Molitor lot to our guest relations friends to our awesome loge usher - and wish them well for the off-season. They make even crummy games fun to attend. Our awesome loge usher Bill reads Brewerfan, so if you're looking here, hello and thanks again!

On the field, the results were mostly happy, though I was blinking back tears as Trevor came out and as Prince left the field. Sigh.

Are we certain that Cappy was removed when he was for an ovation? because he had a trainer with him, which worried me a bit.

Another small but nice touch was that fans attending today's game received a DVD copy of "The Homestand", the program that aired on ESPN and MLB Network earlier this season. Now I have a nice copy of the program.

Somehow we managed a 17-16 record in games attended this year (16-14 in home games, 1-2 on the road). I appreciate the Brewers' efforts and can't wait for April 2011.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

How amazing is Ryan Braun? At one point he was batting .273, his OPS was under .800 and it looked like he had no shot at 30 HR and 100 RBI. If he can stay hot and hit 5 more dingers he could once again finish at 30/100. Not to mention a .300 BA and an OPS over .870. Not bad.

Nice to see all the classy things the Brewers did for players yesterday. Just another reason to love this organization. And how about Lo Cain, finally HR #1.
