The Office Season 7

pitchleague

This has been my favorite show on TV for years. I enjoyed the first episode, but not sure how far they can run with it. Michael was always socially inept, but the branch was always the most profitable, and he seemed to be a mystifying salesman. He made money. Andy, while goofy, is a horrible sales/businessman. Not sure how they can play that scenario for long, maybe they only envision a season or two like this.

I no longer care for Pam's character, the last episode I enjoyed with her was "the wedding". Just don't like her character, at all. Other than that, I enjoy the cast. I still enjoy the show, just not sure where they can really take it at this point.

I thought the season premier was "OK." I've made this comment before, but sometimes the series has these necessary "plot advancement" episodes that aren't as funny as some of the more "everyday" type episodes. They had to establish Andy as the boss, etc. It did come off as somewhat flat in spots. Also, some of the characters who were key to last season seemed like after thoughts (Gabe, Daryl, etc).

I agree with rwa that Pam's character isn't that enjoyable or interesting anymore. I also wonder what happened to the hints of problems between Jim and Pam from late last season.

I still like the series, but you have to wonder if this will be the last season. Doesn't seem like there is too much more they can do with these characters at this point.

Spader killed it. He'll be the reason I continue to watch the show. Basically the only characters I can't stand are Kevin and Pam.

Has anyone watched any of the new shows this year? They've been shockingly bad imo. Watched the New Girl last night and it was garbage. Whitney looked like the WOAT just from the previews, and it absolutely lived up to those expectations.

the black guy with his little catchphrase didn't seem fitting to his character at all. i sure hope they don't intend that to be the next "That's what she said" catchphrase.

i'll keep watching, but i just don't care about the secondary characters that much. it was always about Michael finding a girl.

They could have taken this show in an interesting new direction, but instead they're back to dopey conference room antics with a similar but not as dynamic boss figure. Disappointing.

It hasn't been a bad season, so far. It's passable entertainment. But with the talent this show has, they should be doing much much better.

Pam's character has fallen off a cliff. Kelly has been pretty much non-existent. The whole butt tattoo thing was just...not funny.

I keep watching it because of familiarity, but I really don't enjoy the show much anymore.

I think these first two episodes (granted I only caught the first half of the second one) are of much better quality than most of what they put out the last 2 seasons. Paul Lieberstein did state that the show will not be as boss-centric as it was with Michael Scott, and I consider that a good thing. The show stagnated around Michael Scott as they kept adding to the cast. Hopefully they can reign that in and return to the highlights of the pre-merger group, but I'm not holding my breath.

Parks and Rec, on the other hand, still remains brilliant. God I love that show.

i thought it was a pretty good episode. i think the first 2 weeks existed to set up the rest of the season. it will pick up.

parks and rec knocks it out of the park every week, and i am warming up to whitney after it. didn't really like the first episode but loved last nights.

Liked the premiere better than the second episode. I think I chuckled once or twice. I find Kevin funny when he is background, or if he has maybe a scene. Too much Kevin this year so far. Actually, they've given most of my least favorite characters (Kevin and Pam) entirely too much plot. I like Spader, Andy is growing on me, Erin is hit or miss, and Darryl is pretty consistantly good. They seem to have forgotten about Creed, Kelly and Ryan.

I didn't think last night's episode was that great either. Some of the stuff with Andy challenging the team to raise revenue was kind of funny, but beyond that, it was kind of a lame episode. What was the point of Daryl reconciling with his ex? I didn't get how that had anything to do with the rest of the show.

I liked it outside of the cold open. Who the heck wrote that? They smash the windows and then poke holes in it so the dog can breath. Ummm, wasn't the moon roof open?

I think Andy adds some nice realism to the show. Michael was such a terrible person that I almost liked it when people would walk all over him. Where as when Andy stood up to Darryl in the little cafe scene I felt a sense of relief. Also, Ryan kills it when he interacts with Pam.
