I'm going to bet there aren't many guys in the Brewers' lineup that can hit Hamels.

Looking at how he's pitched this year, the lack of run support he's had all year is just incredible. He's given up 2 ER or less in 5 of his 10 losses, including back-to-back 1 ER losses to the Mets in August. Definitely one of my favorite pitchers to watch, especially when that changeup is working.

Lorenzo will learn soon enough that if the ball is close to both him and Braun, he'll have to get it since Braun doesn't bother running on defense anymore.

Fixed!

What was that pitch that Cappy was throwing besides his fastball and change-up, a slider or cutter or something? That really helped him. i don't remember seeing that before. His change-up really doesn't seem to be working well at all.

I got home just in time to see Macha state in the post-game show that Cappy's groin was tightening up on him. He spoke as if that explained the early-ish exit, though I don't know that I would have expected more than 80 pitches out of him anyway.

Two pinch hitters and no sign of Gamel. Instead we get two guys who mean a combined nothing to the future of this team. How much longer do we have to deal with this buffoon "managing" our team.
Judging by Macha's (and Don Money's) attitude about Gamel's work ethic, I think an argument could be made that Inglett has more of a future on the big league squad than Gamel. I wouldn't be surprised if they included him in a trade package this offseason.

Of course, getting full value for Gamel would include playing him, and I don't think that happens while Ken Macha is still managing for his job.

What's your theory on why Macha would refuse to play Gamel? You used to say in every post through your signature that you believed that Macha hated prospects. That looks like the opposite of reality. So what's your theory?
