Don't know why Inglett is starting over Cain, and Kottaras over Lucroy, but I don't mind the lineup.

Okay. Brewers. I am looking to go 3 games above .500 on the year. I know you hate day games, but Morton's record is awful. Please win!

Fyi, they just closed half the roof. It is the shade side. The shade reaches out to home plate already. I wonder if they are going to leave it like this for the cry babies on this team.

There's nothing wrong with giving a guy the day off when you're playing a day game the night after a 4-hour, extra inning game. Telly Hughes just said that's why Kottaras is in for Lucroy, and I wouldn't be surprised that's why Hart and Cain also have off. Every once and awhile you need to give guys time off to recharge their batteries a bit, and a Sunday home game against the Pirates is about the perfect situation to do it.

This, plus it's good to get the backups some playing time once in a while.

So is .800 "The Gomez Line" for OPS?
Far from it, especially when talking about second basemen. Weeks entered today with an OPS of .841, which is fourth among NL second basemen and 5th among 2B in both leagues. In the NL, Brandon Phillips is #5 at .801 and Jeff Keppinger is #6 at .743.

Nice win for the Brewers today. Always nice to see a sweep, even if it is against the Pirates. Too bad this is the last we see of them this year.

So the day/night split is the new random split we are obsessing over? I'm glad that Macha is trying to figure out how to fix a coin flip.

Maybe he's just a big Persi Diaconus fan.

Man oh man are the Pirates brutal. I can't even imagine how much it must suck to be a Pirate fan.

Roof shenanigans or non-roof shenanigans, I am glad to see the Brewers were able to handle Morton today. It was nice for Trevor to get 599. I agree that the CC bobble is pretty epic. They can't stop the window shadows, but those usually don't creep in until the late innings anyway. Very hot in the park today, but a win is a win.

Alverez hit a foul ball in the 6th. Inglett tossed it into the crowd. I was the one who caught it. My SO is proud of me.
I saw that toss and knew it was right by your seats. Good for you!

Today's game wasn't the hottest we've ever sat through, but it might have been the hottest we sat through in 2010. Bleah. Our section was extra restless, with fans of all ages up and down almost constantly - even more so than the usual for the family section.

However, a relatively easy win (though nothing is truly easy during this season of the facepalm) made the sultry conditions easier to take.

Did anyone else see Evan Meek go down and wonder how many beanballs this buys the Brewers in 2011? Before Pirates nation piles on Ryan and the Brewers even more, I hope they keep in mind the nice ovation Meek got from Brewers fans as he left the field. Fortunately, X-rays were negative and Meek appears to be day-to-day.

I'd practically forgotten what "Trevor Time" was like. The last time he entered in a save situation when we were in attendance was April 27, before Devil Eye Doumit messed things up. It was nice to see again, though I would have had to take a concourse walk had he faced Doumit in that inning.

JV/Sunday lineup vs. the Pirates seemed to work well enough. I'm satisfied for today.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
