Cain's started every single game since coming back up. He was due for an off day.

Edit: Nevermind, he's appeared in every game, starting 7 of 8. Still a bit of a stretch to think Macha's thinking of ways to keep him out.

It is a small sample, but Rogers has been pretty tough on RHB this year. Plus it gives us the ever-elusive right-handed pinch hitter.

After Macha is gone, you're bound to see less of younger players like Cain. I can't think of a manager who has used them more or seems more disposed towards giving them a chance. Melvin loves veterans.

I continue to be amazed at how well the Brewers pitchers are hitting as a whole this year. Nice piece of hitting by Narv Dog there to help his own cause.

Makes me wonder if the pitchers still compete every year to see who gets the most base hits, or if that died out when Sheets left.

Some of these guys like Spilborghs, you'd think they were all stars the way they hit the Brewers.
Yeah. Spilborghs' history as a Madison Mallard doesn't seem to have left him with any fondness for Wisconsin.

Edit: Come talk about the game in the chat room if you wish.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
