I'll be there, continuing to try and reverse my Bush luck (1-4).

A part of me wants to be greedy and hope for a save situation to see if Macha will unleash Trevor Time. Not because Ax blew the save Saturday, but because he's pitched 3 days in a row and has thrown 19, 10, and 19 pitches in those games.

That said, I'll take any way they can get the job done.

Well here's to hoping the Brewers can finally get back to within 6 games of .500. That's been a problem for the last month or so.

Go Crew!

I was just coming to post this. Today could be a nice psychological boost for the team if they can win. Finish off a sweep and get over that 7-under mark for the first time since mid-May. If I counted correctly, they've had 6 chances since then to break that barrier.

And I agree with thablingster that it would be cool to see Trevor get a save today (I'd prefer a blowout, of course). He's been pitching pretty well of late.

Thirded, except the state of affairs in 2010 makes me want to specify that I would prefer a blowout that favors the Brewers.

As chat room regulars will attest, I was already pondering out loud that maybe Trevor could have gone on Friday night, but now that John has pitched three games in a row (even had they all been successful saves), I think he's due for a break.

I'm sure Dave Bush realizes that today would be a particularly ill-timed day for him to have an early meltdown. There just isn't enough healthy bench, and he couldn't come back to pinch-run.

As for records...for what it's worth, the 2010 Brewers are 1-0 vs. Washington in Sunday games I attend. Fingers crossed! and I'll hope to see some of you there.

This made me chuckle, lol. I'm sure if worst came to worst Hart could pinch-run, with a strict ban on sliding. They could always pinch-run Wolf too, he knows his way around the bases.

A cool front blew through last night, it's going to be a great day for baseball!

Casey quelled Hells Bells

Trevor Time did not exist

Hoffman ensures sweep

It was a good game out at the ballpark today. I was slightly disappointed not to hear Hells Bells, but I'll take what I can get, and a win is a win!

OK, back to regular prose. I didn't listen to the radio broadcast, but surely Bob must have called it "a beautiful day for baseball," since it was finally nice and comfortable outside. The crowd - at least in our vicinity - wasn't as deeply into the game as I'd prefer (two more beach balls out toward LF), but it was fun to be part of a large crowd again.

Brian Anderson made a solid barehanded catch of a foul ball that sailed into the FSWisconsin booth. Nice. Real nice.

I could see Bob Uecker's forehead from my seat, and I tried not to turn around to gaze too often, but it was so heartening (maybe I should use a different word) to know he was there.

I was OK with Casey erasing the save opportunity since Earl Weaver strategy was involved. I might have been more irked to see Bush at the plate in the 6th, had the bench not been so thin; but this time it didn't backfire. Esco's web gem was terrific and no small relief to those watching in the park.

Keep it up, Brewers, for as long as you can.
