Was a good game to go to. Was worried when the Crew was down 5-1.

 

Biggest applause, of course, was when there was a message on the board welcoming back Uecker and the camera went to him and he took a couple of bows. Very nice moment.

 

It's amazing to me how popular Counsell continues to be. The second biggest applause went when he came in to pinch hit.

 

Hopefully Hart just has some swelling and won't miss much time. He stayed in for the rest of the inning, so with luck, it's not too bad.

It was a warm night at the park, but a good one. I improved to 9-8 on the year, 4-0 in Narveson starts. When the 'crew went down early, Hart went down with an injury, and it seemed like the offense was sleepwalking it felt like it was going to be a long night. Narveson's broken-bat RBI is really what woke everyone up.

 

I found it interesting Macha had Villanueva and Capuano warming behind Loe in the 8th instead of just getting Axford up. Maybe he's being cautious about crushing people's arms after Hawkins, Estrada, and now Braddock have seen a precipitous drop in their velocity because Macha used them every day/multiple innings for an extended period. Capuano was probably up for Harris, but if it gets to Pudge I'd have been surprised to see Villanueva come in instead of Axford.

 

The tremendous night scenery of Miller Park was out in full effect, including the moon which was hanging out above the foul pole in right field.

I just saw the highlights and boy, I'm glad I forgot how awful those uniforms and overlapping MB logo were.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I love those uniforms. Especially the "M" hats, the white and gold ones.
