2010-07-10 Pirates (Karstens) at Brewers (Bush), 6:10 PM CDT [Brewers win, 4-3]

This is how Braun celebrated after hitting that HR off of Karstens. Excessive? I guess it depends what team you cheer for.

Also, the pitcher who beaned Karstens was Chris Smith.

This was not from the homer off of Karstens. He did nothing out of the ordinary on that one.

The picture above was from when he hit the walk-off grand slam against the Pirates in the last week of the season in 2008. All that picture is is a freeze frame of him in mid-untuck. I just watched the video, and there was no hot dogging or anything. Just the classic untuck and big celebration on a huge win.

Is it free beach ball giveaway day?
Looks that way, doesn't it? Rock and Craig are certainly tired of it.

And that guy earlier who committed fan interference looked like a tool.

I agree with you on the guy looking like a tool. I don't know if you saw the guy sitting next to him, but he made an even bigger effort to reach that ball and then when his friend came up instead of him he started yelling at his friend about interfering with a ball in play.

Nice game Dave.

Bushie pitched pretty well on Monday, too. Hope it carries over to teh second half. He has had some decent spurts in seasons past. Just don't think he can sustain that kind of performance over the long haul given his complete reliance on having to spot his stuff.

You're right. That picture is from September 25th 2008 after the Ryan Braun walkoff grandslam. The Braun homerun off Karstens and subsequent beaning came on April 27th, 2009 which was the next game that the Pirates played the Brewers in a regular season game. If you ask me, the walkoff grandslam played a part in Braun getting beaned, because we know that other teams had a problem with untucking.

thablingster is going to be so bummed, having seen both his favorite MLB beards caught in a single double play.

Honestly, from the time I first saw that photo of Ryan, I thought the abs part had to be photoshopped. They don't look real.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

If it is real, he hasn't ate a carb since 2004.

I missed that play, I was too busy taking pictures of Ax-man in the bullpen. That said, the beard thing is totally my friend Gallo. If I had to choose, Jayson Werth's beard was my favorite MLB beard.

It was pretty warm since the roof and panels were closed, but a good game overall. Other than the uniforms and pre-game mariachi band they really didn't do too much for Cerveceros day. They did have someone dressed up as a jalapeno who had no dancing rhythm at all.

Viva los Cerveceros!
