As frustrating as this series (and season, really) has been, let's avoid the calling the players childish names.

At least the Pirates are coming to town. I'm (again) worried that Miller Park will be swallowed in a giant vortex of suck that's sure to develop with the way both teams are playing right now.

Some interesting comments from Macha in the post-game presser, basically saying he thinks one of the problems has been effort. You think? I can't remember a series where defense was such an issue in every game, even when Braun was still at third.

So who thinks Macha gets canned after the Giants sweep today???
I think it happens Monday morning.
Not that I am a Macha guy, but what would the point me in firing him this season now? Were done and out of it. Might as well finish out the season and start fresh in 2011. His contract was only good through this season anyway.
Elsewhere in the forums (and I don't remember where, and am not going to look right this minute) was someone's rationale that while making a managerial change during the 2010 season is highly unlikely to salvage the season, it may show which, if any, players respond with improvement to that change. If they all improve, then you can feel more confident that the field manager made a difference. If not, then you have a better idea of what parts of the roster need change the most in the 2010-2011 offseason.

Honestly, I think if I were Ken Macha, I might welcome the sweet release from this team, or at least find a silver lining in it.

As for this game and series...sweet caroline, this reminds me of that four game Nationals series in 2009, which was the emotional low point of the year for me. And that one was "only" three losses. Truly, these are the times that try fans' souls.

Edit: I found the post...courtesy of LouisEly. I did some paraphrasing above.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

For his press conferences, Macha may as well be a giant doll with a string attached in back, and when you pull the string you can hear one of the following phrases:
Don't forget the Yostian "we were one pitch away!"

By the looks of things, this was another rough game. It's funny, just over a week ago talking heads on the radio were mentioning the Brewers as buyers. I was tempted to call in and give them the 17 reasons why the Brewers aren't buyers, but I think they showed all of those in this series, lol.
