This isn't game related, and nobody probably cares, but something I've noticed this year doing the IGTs, is that for whatever reason, the AP seems to take the same photo of Randy Wolf every single start. I tend to use photos from each pitcher's previous start, which works fine for everyone except Wolf for some reason. This is pretty much the photo the AP does for Wolf every start;

A chance to see Madison Bumgarner up close and personal...he's been a name a lot of people seem to want in any possible Prince Fielder trade. It'll be interesting to see what his velocity looks like. Coming out of the draft he was throwing low-to-mid 90's, and this year his fastball is averaging 90.3 in his first two starts. He is just 20 (turns 21 on August 1), though, so I suppose there's plenty of time for him to regain that velocity.

Why the hype for Bumgarner? I've only watched him a few times, but his stuff doesn't seem dominant.

Is he deceptive? Location?

His stuff was a lot better up until about a year ago. Suddenly, he's struggling to get his fastball up there much quicker than 90 MPH consistently and his K numbers have fallen off after an incredible start to his pro career:

2008 (A) - 15-3, 1.46 ERA, 10.42 K/9, 1.33 BB/9 (24 games)

2009 (A+) - 3-1, 1.48 ERA, 8.51 K/9, 1.48 BB/9 (5 games)

2009 (AA) - 9-1, 1.93 ERA, 5.80 K/9, 2.52 BB/9 (20 games)

2010 (AAA) - 7-1, 3.16 ERA, 6.4 K/9, 2.68 BB/9 (14 games)

Results have still been good, but the K numbers are almost Dave Bush like now.

This defense is atrocious. Simply atrocious. Fundamentals of baseball DVD for everyone, lol.
