Hart Trade Thread: Latest-- Does Hart's injury mean no deal?

Do you think the Brewers next GM would like Sanchez?

Just because you think Melvin should be fired (not necessarily saying he shouldn't) doesn't mean he will. I'll be shocked if Mark A fires him.

So you don't think Parra would nimble less if he knew the flyballs he could give up would be outs instead of homers? Park effects change a players entire statistical line.

Yes, because Parra dominates on the road.

Haha, Melvin isn't going anywhere as long as Attanasio is our owner. He loves him.

Yeah why would Melvin get fired? We had a really good first half of 2008!

At this point in the off season, I'd offer Tampa a trade of Hart, Fielder, and Coffey for whoever it is is responsible for drafting all of their pitching. I'll throw in Gord Ash too.

Well, whoever that person is was certainly helped by having a #1 overall pick (Price) and #4 overall pick (Niemann) along with the ability to trade another former #1 pick for Matt Garza. Obviously they deserve a ton of credit, high draft picks don't always pan out and theyve done well with guys like Davis and Hellickson a few rounds later.......but it certainly doesn't hurt to have high picks like that.

Well said. The Rays also spent a top 5 pick on Dewon Brazelton. The Brewers were set to draft Davis when the Rays grabbed them 1 spot in front of us. What crippled us was plan B was Josh Wahpepah. We could have had Hellickson though, instead we drafted Will Inman, a short pitcher without plus velocity, which brings us to the new written pitching plan. A poster in the draft forum (Blazer?) was familiar with Hellickson from the travel circuit and was just sick we passed on him. I had no idea how right this guy was until years later.

Schulman just tweeted that J. Sanchez was seen hugging guys in the dugout...........
Makes me wonder what this was all about since he never got traded......

I think someone saw Joe Martinez and mistook him for Sanchez.

I really don't think the Giants need to do anything. Pat Burrel has been a huge addition, Huff is good, Posey is finding his footing, and Sandoval is starting to wake up. If they add something, it should be a middle infielder.

SF uses Travis Ishikara at 1B much of the time. Needless to say, they'll be adding a 1B or OF before the deadline.

SF didn't add a bat. Needless to say, you should stop using the phrase "needless to say".
