I can't figure out how to embed the video, but here's the link to a replay of Carpenter getting hit in the right forearm by a line drive from Kelly Johnson to lead off the game last Monday. Carpenter went on to throw 7 innings, striking out 5, walking 4, and surrendering 3 earned runs on 6 hits (109 pitches).

Yeah, not exactly an intimidating Cardinals lineup tonight with Winn starting instead of Rasmus. This has the feel of a low-scoring game...hopefully Manny can keep his pitch count down early, while Carpenter does the opposite. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Nice play by Weeks on that ball up the middle. That would be why the club isn't ready to give up on him at 2B.

Carpenter's been incredibly wild so far, but only a couple runs to show for it. Hopefully this isn't one of those games where the opposing pitcher is wild early before settling down and throwing a bunch of scoreless innings. It'd be great to chase him in the 3rd with a crooked number.

That's a big time Phew!!!

Let's see, we've got Parra outpitching Carpenter, the Brewers flashing leather and the Cards making errors and the world's classiest human beings booing their home team. I must be dead and this must be heaven...good thing heaven has the MLB package and high speed Internet for bf.net!!!

That's the kind of "mental toughness" everyone seems to think he doesn't have.
I was just saying that in the chat...which any of you is welcome to join, so that AKA Pete isn't on his own when I leave shortly for fireworks.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I'll be following the rest of this game via radio from the fireworks. Please don't make me have to turn it off in sadness, Brewers.

And someone go join AKA Pete in the chat. He's a good guy.
