Baseball history shows/books

Thurston Fluff

Last night I happened across a PBS program called Baseball that was just

wonderful. It is a 9 part series that goes through the history of

baseball both MLB and Negro leagues. Since I love history and baseball

I'm always on the look out for good

books or movies on baseball history. I thought maybe it'd be nice to

share and hope somebody has suggestions for others I have

not seen or read.

Another one I happened upon was Reel Baseball: Baseball Films of the

Silent Era. Not exactly baseball history but baseball movies of the

silent era which also had Babe Ruth playing himself in one of them.

Both are available on Netflix if anyone is interested.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

i watched it, too. that was the Ken Burns documentary he did some years ago.

there's a lot of baseball- and brewers-related books in the "What are you Reading" thread, including one i just finished called "9 Innings" about a 1982 game between the Brewers and the Orioles.
