Going to Busch on 7/1

tdeggie

Hi all,

I live near St. Louis and have tickets to the Crew game on Thursday. I have very little knowledge of St. Louis (been there once but didn't drive took the train). I'm just wondering if anyone has been there and how parking is for tailgating? I see they had parking but don't know the layout. Also, I believe from people that I have talked with that I can't miss the stadium as it is right off I55 (I'll be driving S on I55 crossing over into MO from IL).

Thanks for any help that anyone might have and GO CREW!!

Edit: Oh yeah if anyone else by chance is going let me know, it would be great to see other Brewer fans there as well.

You can't miss the stadium. At all.

They don't have a lot for tailgating. Just lots of parking ramps which charge ~$20 to park there. I'd suggest heading to the roof in one of those if you want to grill out.

I live down near STL too. He is right, tailgating is not big here. You can literally look into the stadium from 55. I think they do a pre-party thing at Al Hrabosky's. It is a big outdoor area, pretty much look to your left when you see the stadium from the highway. Parking isn't great. Expect to pay $15-20.

If you're really desperate to not pay for parking, it's usually possible to find a couple spots on the street down by Purina (e.g., Chouteau, Lebanon) which is only about a half mile south of the stadium. And there are a handful of bars with outdoor patios on the way to the park, which is about as close to tailgating as anyone seems to get down here.

And for what it's worth, 40/64 is the one that grazes the stadium. 55 veers south just before reaching it.

Anyone else going to the 2 game series in St. Louis next week (August 17th and 18th)?

I have free tickets to both games. The Cardinals had a promo during a recent home stand. During the 9 game game home stand they took $5 off the price of tickets for every win. They won 8 of 9 so tickets $40 and under were free. A co-worker got tickets for Tuesday's game. I'll be going with 2 Cardinal fans and a Cubs fan. Yuck!

My fiance was able to snag tickets for Wednesday's game in a luxury suite from a client at work. I've never attended a sporting event in a luxury suite, but look forward to keeping it classy with the classiest fans in MLB!

Hopefully the Brewers play spoiler next week. Go Crew!

I don't know St. Louis that well, but one place I'd recommend is Schlafly Brewery. It's a little too far from the stadium to walk I think, but their beer is decent enough and the food is always good.

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people

We'll be in St. Louis for the games next week as well. With the 4 & 12-year-old with us...better chance of us attending the Magic House and Zoo rather than a brewery tour. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Decided to go all out on the tickets for Tuesday night. Few rows from the Brewer dugout. On Wednesday afternoon, my son and I are in the first row above the Brewers bullpen.

What are you all going to wear? so we can identify you on TV? (in case your family are TV camera magnets in STL as well as at MP)
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

No such luck with the Brandon Phillips jersey.

I would normally put the chances that my 12-year-old would be in a "Braun" shirt of some type at about 99%, but...

at Sunday's game, he used money from his upcoming birthday to purchase a Rick Peterson game-used uniform. I know he is hoping St. Louis will offer an opportunity to get some autographs on the uniform, so not sure if he will be wearing or carrying it. (Before you ask, no - the pants don't fit him at all but the jersey is big enough that he wouldn't need to be wearing pants http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif )

Hawing - we have been pretty lucky getting on the scoreboard this season. Never underestimate the ability of a 4-year-old blond girl who is willing to dance, scream and yell when she knows where the camera is. Think she has been on the scoreboard in each of the last 5+ games she's attended. Starting to worry because now she "expects" to get on each game.

Funny, when we attend games with other adults instead of the kids we don't seem to get on. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
