2010-06-27 Mariners (Vargas) at Brewers (Narveson), 1:10 PM CDT [Brewers win, 3-0]

Man, too many times this season Fielder and Braun have come up with men in scoring position and not come through. So frustrating.
Not only do they not come through by driving in runs, there not even moving the runners up quite a bit it seems...

i was bit Frustrated about the way Braun and Fielder have fared in certain clutch situations. But it was a great start by Chris today and hope he continues foward. I think Macha and melvin will need to make a choice on the 5 starters after the All Star Game.

That was a quick game. Narveson was dealing, albeit against what most consider a sub-par lineup. A win is a win, and a series victory is pretty sweet. I'm just glad Ax-Man left this man on deck:

So since Weeks was thrown out at second, that's technically a single, which means he's a triple away from the cycle, correct?
Correct.

With Ichiro in right, I'm not sure how likely it is, but it'd be fun to see.

I had the same thought as crewcrazy, but then what do you know, a triple that landed just outside Ichiro's reach...it was just the wrong batter. On the up side, today was the one day we had RF terrace box seats, so I had a terrific overhead view of the ball spilling out of his glove.

Nice day at the ballpark today. I think the key to Narvdog's success might be the one-two fan support of thablingster and me. We just need to get to the rest of his starts.

We brought the S.O.'s family, so it was good to have early scoring and sustained success, to keep them interested. I'd been watching for Branyan, but hadn't noticed that he was so close to batting in the 9th. That would have set up a collision of fan crushes for me.

Finally, speaking of collisions, I wonder how much Esco has to wave everyone off for GoGo to get the message. I hope he's OK.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Yeah hawing, every time I saw a left handed batter pop up in the on-deck circle I took a picture, and promptly titled the picture "not Branyan." Finally after I'd put my camera away my friend was like "that guy looks like Branyan" and I took out the camera just in time to get him walking back to the dugout after Axford struck out Josh Wilson to end the game.

The Esco/Go-Go collision is on MLB.com in highlights, that looked ugly. Go-Go stepped on his ankle/heel.

Also funny tidbit, after Lucroy made the last out in that inning where the bases were loaded while Lucroy put on his gear Counsell warmed up Narveson. I didn't notice until I saw them switch and I was like "that's not Epic Beard (Kottaras)!" I was too late on the picture for that, though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
