Dino'z on State St (Milwaukee)

Menotti80

Has anyone been there yet? If so, what are your thoughts on the place? (Food, Atmosphere, etc)

I will be going out for dinner and drinks Friday night in the Milwaukee area or west of milwaukee (not downtown), and I may want to try something new. We ususally go to Lee's on Cleveland. I have heard Dino'z advertised on the radio a few times and I am interested.

We dont go out often so we really can't afford to go to a place that turns out to be a bust...

Thanks in advance!

I can't say I've been there. Haven't been to Lee's yet either.

What kind of place are you looking for? I'm sure the BF.netters can come up with suggestions!

Things we dont like:

- over crowded bars. i dont want to wait 10 minutes at the bar to get a bartender's attention. and if there are waitresses, they are able to check on us more than 2-3 times an hour

- the bars with a 21 yr old drunk college student atmosphere

- bars that turn into a dance club

- extremely loud sound system.

(basically, we hate bars like Buckhead & Brothers)

Things we do like:

- generally a relaxed atmosphere

- plenty of seating (especially tables with waitresses)

- plenty of HDTVs scattered throughout that offer a variety of sporting events (and if a brewer game is on will feature the brewer game)

- good food

- places that have a few dart boards and pool table(s) (that wont have a 45 minute wait when you put your quarter down)

- music that features non-techno/hip hop music

- Golden Tee (the lastest version, perferably on a pedistal cabinet and preferably $4 per LIVE game)... ok maybe this is what only I like.

Did you look at their website, Menotti?

The pics give it the appearance of a fun bar, and they do mention darts, pool, trivia and Golden Tee 2010.

If you are headed that direction, Col. Hart's in Tosa is pretty nice. They've remodled and added a little patio. There is usually a pretty relaxed vibe in there, a little less crowded and older than Leff's, which is just a few doors down. Leff's new patio is really nice. Their waitstaff is good, too.

i did look at the website, but when i clicked on photos, i think it wanted to take me to facebook, which i can't view at work and i dont have a facebook account. i did notice the pictures at the top of the website. the first one shows it pretty crowded, but there's a live band performing (a saturday night); so it probably wont be that crowded friday night, especially during summerfest, which is nice.

i found Dino'z by searching for bars that have Golden Tee 2010, so it passed one of my "musts". lol

and chuckiehacks, i may check out col. harts sometime. too bad there's no GT machine though. and i have been to the new paio at leffs, and it was an improvement over the old leffs, which i hated because of its over-crowdedness
