Holy Huntsville offense! Lawrie, Cain, Wilson, Wheeler, everyone! Plus Butler is having his best outing so far.

And Kyle Heckathorne? Who knew...

Richardson just keeps creeping that overall line up. Gennett keeps hitting.

Edit: BC too! Komatsu, Kjeldgaard, Kreiger twice, with bombs. Salome with a couple hits. Great night so far.

Final: DSL Brewers 9, DSL Cardinals 8

A grand slam walk-off five-run 9th inning win!

DSL Brewers Box Score

Catcher Orton Rodriguez connects on a pinch-hit two-out walk-off grand slam, and dancing ensued! Managerial genius? It's not like L/R factored into the pinch-hit decision; 6'6" RHP Jairo Mejia gets the win and maintains his 0.00 ERA after four relief outings; speaking of tall, 6'7" LH starter Eliezer Montano managed to get through five uneven innings (including four wild pitches); Brewer pitchers walked 12, Brewer batters fanned 14 times, Brewer fielders committed four errors -- and that spells victory!

This intrepid Link Reporter is offline until Sunday morning -- and thank you again to the TheCrew07 who will complete your evening later on, but dare I say that a current glance at the boxes has the organization poised for a clean sweep in a very good way tonight (I have the Brewers game paused at the beginning on DVR -- go, Yo!).

Here's hoping....enjoy your evening!

And Kyle Heckathorne? Who knew...

Well, considering he was my guy pre-draft, I'd like to say I did, but then you'd just point out that Arnett was my guy too.

Awesome to see another one of my guys, Lawrie, staying white hot. He's up to 5 hits tonight with a homer.

Its impressive that Huntsville did this against 2 solid pitching prospects in Jake Mcgee and Heeth Rollins.

Final: Wisconsin 8, Kane County (Oakland) 0

Wisconsin pitches shutout at Kane County

By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

GENEVA, IL - Kyle Heckathorn

was at it again. The Wisconsin

Timber Rattlers starting pitcher tossed six shutout innings, allowed one hit,

and struck out seven to lead the Rattlers to an 8-0 win over the Kane County

Cougars Saturday night at Elfstrom Stadium.

Heckathorn pitched his seventh straight quality start and picked up his

fifth win of the season with his performance against the Cougars (32-36).

The Rattlers (25-42) strung

together four consecutive one-out singles in the top of the first inning.

Khris Davis and Hunter Morris had the last two singles in the sequence

and drove in a run each for a 2-0 advantage.

Wisconsin stole a run with

runners on first and third in the top of the second.

Cutter Dykstra was at third and Michael Marseco was at first with one out

after a hit-and-run single by Marseco. D'Vontrey

Richardson was at the plate when Marseco broke for second and drew a throw.

Dysktra broke for the plate and scored without a play as Marseco was

tagged out.

Heckathorn took over the game

at that point. He retired 16

straight at one point. The big

right-hander allowed one hit and walked three over six shutout innings.

He also set a new professional high for strikeouts with seven.

Heckathorn left after six innings with a 3-0 lead.

In seven consecutive starts dating back to

May 16, Heckathorn has pitched at least six innings without allowing more

than three earned runs. In those

last seven starts, Heckathorn has pitched 46 innings, allowed six earned runs,

and struck out 33 batters.

Rattler reliever Brian Costello

allowed a leadoff single in the bottom of the seventh, but nothing else.

Jon Pokorny pitched around a

pair of hits in the bottom of the eighth inning to maintain the 3-0 advantage.

Wisconsin's offense gave the

bullpen some breathing room in the top of the ninth inning.

Cameron Garfield doubled to start the inning and he was moved along on a

grounder to the right side by Dykstra. Pete

Fatse dropped a perfect suicide squeeze bunt with Garfield charging from third.

Fatse reached base on the play that was ruled an error.

Later in the inning, Wisconsin

loaded the bases. Scooter Gennett

cleared the bases with a three-run double to left.

Kentrail Davis followed with an RBI double and the Rattlers were up 8-0

heading into the bottom of the ninth.

Pokorny struck out the side to

end the game.

The Rattlers and the Cougars

wrap up the first half of the Midwest League schedule on Sunday afternoon.

Nick Bucci (3-3, 3.07) is scheduled to start for the Timber Rattlers.

Kane County has Justin Marks (2-7, 5.67) as their scheduled starter.

Game time is 1:00pm. You can

tune into the broadcast on AM 1280 WNAM starting with the Miller Lite Pregame

Show at 12:40pm.

WP: Kyle Heckathorn (5-4)

LP: Dan Straily (5-4)

SAVE: Jon Pokorny (3)

Wisconsin Boxscore

Look at that attendance! I was pretty proud of the WI attendance until I saw that, it's impressive for a low A baseball team. Onto the game.. Kyle Heckathorn was completely studly. After allowing a BB, a stolen Base, and then a single in the first, Heckathorn retried the next 16 batters before inexplicably losing his control in the 6th and walking back to back batters. the first on 4 pitches. He did get out of it, nearly throwing the ball away but Hunter Morris picked him up. As noted above Matt Costello and Jon Pokorny were excellent out of the pen to close out the game. D'Vontrey Richardson, Scooter Gennett, and Kentrail Davis all had 2 hits a piece including a double, Michael Marseco added 2 hits, and Cameron Garfield smacked the double mentioned above. Just an excellent offensive performance at the bookends of the game which was admittedly aided by some pretty horrible Kane County defense. It's only been 2 games but Hunter Morris is growing on me already, I remember him saving 3 errors off the top my of head with digs or tags of the runner on poor throws at 1B. Hopefully he hits like he's playing defense.

Wisconsin Recap

I thoroughly enjoyed the end of the game..
