The fact that this dialogue

Quote:
Tommy Callahan III: Did you hear I graduated?

Richard Hayden: Yeah and just a shade under a decade. All right.

Tommy: You know a lot of people go to college for seven years.

Richard: I know, they're called doctors.

now actually applies to me. By Spring 2007, I'll be free! Free to get an enslaving 9-5 job, that is

The way I look at it, I have to be one of the finest 6-7 year students that UW-Mad. has ever seen! But that's probably because there aren't many of us....

I agree with everything DatHoser said about 8 posts up.

I was griping about those silhouettes a few months ago in my fantasy league and now they're everywhere. To make it worse, they seem to add new ones everyday. There's also one where a tattoo appears to be given to the underside of a forearm and the scrit has something to do w/mortgages. Give me a break.

Most Wonderful time of the year? What's so wonderful about constant traffic, crowds no matter where I go and that song playing...again?

Yep, I'm a scrooge.

I was at ShpoKo yesterday, and I was the second person in a three person line. The Lady behind me, stood about 6 inches away from me, to the point she was almost pushing me forward. I held my ground because I didn't want to invade the person space of the person in front of me. But it irritates me when strangers get inside my personal bubble.

I thought to myself, "What the hell am I gonna do when Friday comes and I have to brave the stores to finish shopping?"

Everyone might be getting gift certificates.... Blahhhhhhhhh

The length of commercial breaks on sports talk radio. I listen to Mike and Mike on my way to work and Jim Rome on the way home (yeah, I work early). The drive takes me about 15 minutes. Last week, there was a morning where I heard 5 minutes of content during the Mike and Mike show, 10 minutes of commercials.

Along the sports talk radio line...the fact that Madison is getting another sports talk radio station. We already have 1070 AM, soon we are getting 92.1 FM as well. Milwaukee can hardly support 2 sports talk radio stations. How can Madison support 2? Yeah, people can talk about the Badgers, but man...even the most die hard fans can't listen to Badger talk constantly.

BoneDaddyKool, I am so with you on the personal bubble. There isn't to much I despise more than people who don't understand boundaries. So now what I do is buy very long shoelaces don't ever tie them, and leave the laces just spread out and dangle on the floor. People generally do notice and are nice enough to not step on them so I have an actually 15 inch bubble around me.

92.1 is Air America right now, but they can't get enough sponsors from what I've heard. So, now they ClearChannel will expand on their sports talk by adding Fox. I heard Rome will now be on Fox so they can expand The Herd and broadcast Dan Patrick live instead of on 2 hour delay. They also said they can add more high school sports.

Personally, I'm cool with this because I don't like the local program director on ESPN, he's always ruining the weekends with car racing (on the radio??). Actually, he's the reason I got XM.

Back to bugging.....

People who throw hissy-fits at the cashier when a price is perceived to be wrong. It's not the cashier's fault, you know. If you point it out, they can call for pricing assistance. Also, all of these stores have those little electronic readers everywhere, so if you're concerned about a certain item, you can verify it while shopping.

grocery shopping...I just hate it..trying to find what i'm looking for, no express lanes open, standing behind someone that has hundreds of items when I only have 10, the cashier checking their ID when the customer is clearly older than 40..then the customer holds up the line even longer by making sure every last coupon worked....ugh

Here was a new one on me today...was going to Target for some last minute things, and of course it is packed. Saw a parking spot opening a few yards ahead in the aisle I was in. I'm not one who tries for the perfect spot, but parking was limited, and it was about halfway down the row. As I am waiting a car a few spots back from the one I am waiting on pulls out, then pulls into the spot I was waiting for. I had already rolled forward, so I couldn't take the spot that she was in. Had to drive around for 5 more minutes for another spot. All of this nonsense, to save this obese woman about 10 extra feet of walking...and we wonder why this is the fattest nation on earth. These are the little things that bother me. Also can't stand it when people don't return the carts to the "cart corral", seriously people, they are usually no more than 10 yards away from your spot...the exercise won't kill you!

hehe wooo, someone that hates lazy people that are "in too big of a hurry" to return shopping carts.

The other thing about parking lots that bugs me is the fact that people keeping hitting my car, and just driving away. The perfect parking spot for me is as far away from the store out in the open as possible. I'll walk an extra 100 yards to save myself the frustration of another drive away, and the frustration of having to answer, "WOW, What happened to your car?"

Agreed. Every drive home after a night game last season, we'd put on WSSP's post-game show only to listen helplessly as perhaps 40% of our available listening time (before we lost the signal at the exit 282 sign) was taken up by commercials or those ten-minute scoreboard updates.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

It really bugs me when people fly off the handle about anything trivial like that. Man, is that 7 cents going to change your life?

Next time that happens, some advice to make you feel better. Hand the person a dollar and say "There's people waiting patiently for you to resolve the missing 7 cents. Here's a dollar...this should take care of it plus more than enough to cover you the next time it happens."

I have actually done that (or something similar) several times. Usually the person isn't even bright enough to figure out I was mocking them. they were more than happy to take the dollar!

This comes from my post regarding winter meeting locations...

The new Great Dane in Madison not able to serve Great Dane beer. The Great Dane is my favorite restaurant in town. I love their food and it's very affordable. However, no trip to the Dane is complete without one of their awesome beers. For me, it's either a German Pils or a Crop Circle Wheat.

When I found out the Dane was opening a third location, I was excited (unlike a lot of other Madisonians). I figured, less crowds at the downtown location. As of now, I have no intent to ever step foot in the new Dane (a lot of it has to do with the fact I live next to the downtown one, but if I move...).

This is and isn't the Dane's fault. It isn't their fault because there is a state law that is wayyyy outdated and needs to be modified. It is the Tied House law. A brewery cannot sell their own beer exclusively at more than 2 locations. It is their fault, however, for building a Dane knowing they could not sell their beer.

For those of you who are not from the Madison area, you could probably care less...but it is bugging me none the less.
